Getting To Know You
I am currently working on a series in which I address some of the questions, concerns and misconceptions about online and long distance relationships. I have been in a long distance relationship for more than seven years – the relationship was initiated online, and has recently resulted in marriage – and so I am writing from my own experience and perspective. My goal is to help shed new light on the subject and work toward removing the stigma attached to these kinds of relationships.
Since it appears this project will be some time in the making, I thought it might be helpful to include a page with a link to each completed part, which I will update each time I post something new. This way, anyone who happens to find my blog in the middle of the series will have an easier time following along.
Each segment addresses specific questions and concerns. They are as follows:
- How can you fall in love with someone you don’t even know?
- How do you know the person you’ve met online isn’t lying to you?
How do you know he isn’t a psycho?
Getting To Know You – Part III
- What if the person you’ve fallen in love with online has bad breath or body odor problems?
What if it turns out that you’re not sexually compatible?
- Aren’t you worried he or she will cheat on you?
Isn’t it easier to cheat when you’re in an online or long distance relationship?
Coming soon: Conclusion
