I have a friend who is a Professional Counselor and when on unemployment the person did not apply for jobs not in the same field – - and when the person DID talk to a potential employer, it was with the understanding that no application would take place unless certain things were already established. This was because if the person had applied for a job, been accepted for the job and not been able to take it (for whatever reason), this person would have lost their unemployment.
There are many other jobs that fit this sort of criteria – - like an atheist may not want to work at a church. Or an animal rights activist may not want to work at a meat packing plant. That sort of thing.
However, I also know LOTS of people who would use questionable reasons for not taking a job…..just ’cause they don’t want to work (or whatever). There would need to be some guidelines. In most states, people only need to apply at a certain number of jobs per week – - they don’t specify what those jobs are…which provides the applicant the opportunity to choose which jobs they feel morally agreeable to.

I think if someone is ademently pro-life they should be able to refuse a jog in the abortion field, or vegetarian should be able to reject a job serviing or selling meat. These are just a couple of examples I’m sure there are many more.
